We’re Moving!

In order to get ready for the launch of our brand new site, listenerclub.tumblr.com is officially moving to lstnclub.com. I’ll still be doing the same thing with the blog (attempting to bring you new music to like), but this move will allow me to bring it to you much easier and in a much better way!

The new site is still a Tumblr, so please feel free to follow @ lstnclub.com!

Thanks,
Chad

Iron & Wine - Tree By The River
From the LP, Kiss Each Other Clean
Buy on iTunes

There’s not much to say, other than this man writes great songs. For some reason this one makes me feel the same way watching The Wonder Years on television made me feel when I was younger. Good vibes all around.

Biffy Clyro - The Captain
From the EP, The Captain

One of my good friends showed me this song and I immediately fell in love with the lyrics and energy of it.

The Weakerthans - Left and Leaving
From the album Left and Leaving

One my favorite songs, from one of my favorite bands. This would easily be in my top 20 songs of all-time list. If you don’t think these lyrics are amazing, then I don’t know what to say to you.

Matt & Kim - Good Ol’ Fashion Nightmare
From the album Grand

I love this entire album, but this track stood out to me from first listen on. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a big drum beat and a string section.

Ben Gibbard & Jay Farrar - California Zephyr
From the album
One Fast Move Or I’m Gone

The lyrics of the song warrant it as a great opening track to represent Jack Kerouack’s book, Big Sur. I love love love the lyrics and overall feel of playing this song in the middle of a long drive.

Discovery - Swing Tree
From the album Discovery

I stumbled onto this song in the middle of an Urban Outfitters’ LSTN Mix, and would easily call it one of my favorite electronic tracks I’ve ever heard.

The Decemberists - Raincoat Song
From Always the Bridesmaid Vol. 3

To say I love this song would be an enormous understatement. One of my favorites of all-time for rainy and not rainy days. Perfect lyrics, perfect guitar, and perfect melody, if you ask me.

She & Him - In The Sun
From the album Volume Two

Here’s a new one from a band that makes feel like there’s still hope that the oldies I always loved from the 50s and 60s won’t ever die. Plus, it’s Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, so how can you lose?

Sam Means - Yeah Yeah
From The Sinking of Santa Isabel Soundtrack

This is a nice laid-back song from one of the guys formally in one of my previously favorite bands, The Format. Also, this is a good one to listen to if you like to think you’re life’s a movie, like I do at times.
